Antidote for the Nameless
trumpet, vibraphone, drum set, cello with two actors
text taken from Henry Miller's "The Tropic of Capricorn"
to performer/writer Ben Hosley
49 pages (11"x17") duration ca. 23'A work for theater with two actors and four musicians, text taken from Henry Miller's "The Tropic of Capricorn". A writer meets a friend in a local bar in mid-afternoon before they open to read for her a section from his new work. The bar is empty but on the stage in back can be seen and heard a jazz quartet rehearsing. My over-all intent is to create theater where language and music find parity.
