59 pages (11"x17") duration ca. 14'A percussion quartet where each percussionist himself plays a quartet of timbres. It includes an actor who is reciting throughout, text taken from Plato's "Phaedo". The music's intensity is ranged while the voice is a constant drone. The 'sound' of the voice is ever-present but the 'sense of it is rare and fleeting. Sound's two great arts, Language and Music, performed simultaneously, causes in the listener an emotional conflict. How is this to be resolved?
